5 Step Makeup For Glossy Skin

One of my favourite ways to create a super glossy and radiant makeup look is with less but creamier products. I rely heavily on getting my glow through skincare (more on this here) so pre-makeup I layer on face oil to ensure it is as nourished, dewy and healthy looking as possible to help really get that 'lit from within glow'. Creamy products are my go to whatever makeup look I'm creating and my makeup bag for Spring/Summer consists of peach, pink and bronze cheek sticks, balmy highlighters, tinted moisturisers, radiance boosting primers and liquid blushers to keep things as minimal, fresh looking and glowy as possible. The look I'm sharing today is what kept me sweaty face free in the mini heat-wave we had in the UK last week and got me ready in about 3 minutes in the morning.

1.

The first step I do after I've applied my skincare is primer and I love to use something that's going to add a little extra moisture and radiance. My favourite ever is the Laura Mercier Radiance Primer* for it's super lightweight gel-based texture that smooths over the face beautifully, adding an instant radiance boost and illuminated complexion that will shine through any light bases going on top.

2.

I try to avoid bases in the Summer as often as I can, especially when I've got a tan (fake or natural) but I do still like to perfect any areas that need it, usually under my eyes and around my nose. My go to concealer right now is the Glossier Stretch Concealer; a super light, creamy formula that's incredibly blend-able, offering minimal coverage that does cover dark circles and small blemishes/redness without drying or looking cakey.

By this stage, my skin is looking radiant, awake and perfected without feeling like I've got loads of products on. The next step is to choose what cheek colours I'm going to go for, usually this is a peach-toned liquid blush from Becca or one of my many golden pink cheek sticks. I always dust bronzer over my face (cream or powder) what-ever the look as I find this step is what makes a massive difference; a little extra warmth, definition and glow.

3.

Going in with bronzer first, I've been really enjoying this creamy one from Lord & Berry Cream Bronzer* which I can only get away with using when I have a tan so it's going to be perfect for Summer. The formula is incredibly buttery and a small amount really blends out on the face to a flattering sun-kissed glow that brings the complexion to life.

4.

To add a really natural flush of colour to my cheeks there is no better product in my collection right now than the Rosie for Autograph Pink Cheek Stick*. This vibrant pink shade is not as scary on the cheek as it looks, it blends out to a really barely there colour that can be built up for more intensity. The formula is the creamiest of them all adding an instant 'glow' across my cheeks once applied that seamlessly blends into my skin.

5.

I'm completely obsessed with face-mists and the glorious Caudalie Beauty Elixir is my all time favourite for it's refreshing and uplifting scent that is so energising in the mornings and throughout the day, helping to boost radiance and enhance the longevity of makeup. Two spritz's of this is the final step to all of my makeup routines but especially in Summer to help lock things in and keep skin replenished and hydrated.
