The SPF’S I’m Packing in my Beauty Bag
SPF is the most important product to tick off your packing list and when I started planning my beauty bag for my up-coming 5 month trip, SPF was the one category I wanted to get nailed down to a T. Having a few different options was key; the ultra protecting SPF50 that I could slather on for days at the beach to the tinted, lighter options that double up as a tinted moisturiser for when I want to look a little more glam or for shoot days. Ideally when it comes to picking your suncream, you need to look for ones that offer UVA and UVB protection to ensure you are covered for ageing (UVA) and burning (UVB) and really you should be using factor 50 on your face to keep damage to an absolute minimum. From satin like textures to lightly tinted glow boosting creams for when you don’t want to wear makeup but your skin needs a slight radiance boost, below are the top 4 SPF’s I’m taking with me to Australia and elsewhere…
This one is going to be my go to for days when I want my skin to have a little tint to it or if we’re going out for the day / early evening and I still need that protection on my face - if you’ve read my previous post on ‘How to pack your beauty bag for travelling’ then you’ll know how important it is to take multi-purpose products on holiday with you! Doubling up as an SPF and tinted moisturiser, Kiehl’s super sheer, complexion correcting cream not only provides skin with high factor protection but gives skin a gorgeously healthy glow and lit from within look. It’s been formulated with Lychee Extract, which is known for it’s protecting and hydrating skin properties and is infused with pollution protecting to defend the skin from environmental aggressors.
An SPF that packs a punch in the morning is one I won’t leave behind… The Origins Ginzing range is a firm favourite of mine and this Coffee Bean and Ginseng hydrating SPF will get your skin one step closer to looking beautifully radiant in the sun. Another mutli-tasker in the SPF department is it too doubles up as a tinted moisturiser, helping to perfect any uneven skin tones and make skin look even healthier whilst protecting from harmful UV rays. Ginseng is the key ingredient here as it helps with fatigued looking complexions by energising and strengthening the skin.
When on the go and in-between locations, having an SPF that also works as a morning moisturiser makes your morning routine that little quicker and easier. One of my favourite sheet mask brands, Skin Laundry have a broad spectrum SPF35 moisturiser that helps to hydrate, nourish and protect the skin from both UVA and UVB rays. Lightweight, non-greasy and leaves a shine free finish on the skin.
It’s always good to have a super light weight, oil-free and sensitive skin friendly SPF for when skin is feeling a little irritated and you need something that you know cause any skin upsets. Formulated with powerful anti-oxidants, this UVA and UVB defence SPF easily absorbs into the skin and offers maximum protection and hydration.
