The Dewy AM Skincare Routine

In times of isolation, work from home and social distancing, there is a little more time to spend on giving your skin a bit of a pamper in the mornings. This routine is for days when you have a spare 10 minutes to let masks work their magic and skin to breathe before you apply your daily products. Wake up, grab your eye gels, lip scrubs and best hydrators for a morning of ‘me time’…

1. PREP

If my skin needs more than a splash of water in the mornings then I’ll use the Omorovicza Peachy Micellar Cleansing Pads* to remove any excess oil or products from the night before, as opposed to going in with a cream cleanser. Soaked rose water, peach, patchouli and natural micellar solution, these are an incredibly gentle way to wake up the skin that soothes and tones, creating a clean base to work with.

The best way to brighten and refresh the eye area is with some cooling gels and my current favourites to apply are the Patchology Eye Revive Rejuvenating Gels*. I leave this on for 5 minutes whilst I’m making a cup of tea or towel/blow drying my hair and let the caffeine and hydrolysed collagen work their magic - it’s the perfect way to to refresh in an instant.

By all means not an everyday step but on days when I’m taking a little longer to pamper, I like to use a lip scrub to gently exfoliate, plump and bring the blood to the surface. I’ve currently got the L’Occitane Fig Lip Scrub* at home with me and it’s got a lovely jammy texture that is packed full of natural ingredients such as Vitamin E to soothe and seeds to buff away dead skin.

2. PREVENT

There isn’t a day when I don’t use Vitamin C in my morning skincare routine. It’s the key to glowier, brighter and more even skin that looks youthful and remains protected. My favourite ever serum is Skin Ceuticals C E Ferulic Acid Serum* which is an absolute serum powerhouse in that it contains 15% Vit C and 0.5% Ferulic Acid which enhances protection against external aggressors and improves firmness, fine lines and any pigmentation.

3. TARGET

This is where the instant glow comes in to play with none other than Oskia Get Up & Glow Serum*; milk peptides and Swiss Apple Stem Cell mixed together to formulate a divine, pearlescent energy boosting serum that quite literally, perks up the complexion upon application. Perfect for dull/dehydrated complexions that need a little loving but suitable for everyone.

Not forgetting to brighten fatigued eyes, I love the This Works Morning Expert Open Eyes* serum as it has a cooling metal applicator that makes application a joy. Targeting puffiness, after continued use, dark circles will be a thing of the past and eyes look awake.

5. NOURISH

I love to lock all of my serums in with a thick cream and I’ve been using a mini of the Glossier Priming Rich Moisturiser* which has become one of my favourite moisturisers to date. It’s buttery and full of ceramides and fatty acids to reinforce, strengthen and protect skins lipid barrier.
