April and May Beauty Favourites

Being in lockdown for the past couple of months has meant my beauty routine hasn’t changed an awful lot, leading to a combined April and May favourites as I’ve used the same products on repeat but I am truly obsessed with each one. Salicylic acid for my scalp has now become my new norm, but I’m not complaining. Here are my most used 7 products of lockdown…

The best beauty in April

The Ordinary 100% Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil: Every night I reach for a non-comedogenic oil that is going to lock in my serums, protect, heal and boost radiance and for this, there is nothing I love more than rosehip oil. This one from The Ordinary has been my most reached for skincare product of isolation for it’s multi-purpose use and many skin benefits. I’ve been wearing it overnight but also in the day if my skin looks as though it needs a health boost.

REN Glycolic AHA Radiance Mask*: This mask is the answer to all dull, congested skin concerns. I’ve been applying a thick layer once a week and leaving it to work its magic for 10 minutes. The glycolic and lactic acid derived from Papaya and Passion Fruit gently exfoliate to reveal a brighter, clearer complexion. My skin always looks instantly brighter after using this and I love the goopy orange gel texture that feels so luxurious on the skin.

Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask*: To keep my skin clear, I’ve continued to carry out my weekly clay mask routine and I’m still using my favourite ever from Omorovicza. It’s rich in magnesium, calcium, zinc & copper that clear congested pores and draw out all impurities to reveal re-energised, clearer and softer skin. Despite being a clay mask, this isn’t at all ‘sticky’, meaning it won’t cling or dry stuck to the skin, making it easy to remove with a damp cloth that won’t pull your skin.

Avène Hydrance Aqua Gel Moisturiser: I love to use light, gel textures in the warmer weather that soothe and lock in my serums without being too heavy. I love all products from Avène for their ultra gentle formula’s that are perfect for sensitive and irritated skin and this gel cream has a water like texture that drenches the skin in their unique Cohederm technology that restores natural hydration levels in the skin.

Glossier Solution*: My go to chemical exfoliant from one of my most used brands. A blend of lactic and glycolic acid (AHA’s), salicylic acid (BHA) and gluconolactone (PHA) that together, break down the bonds holding dead skin cells together and unclog pores to brighten, improve skins texture and reduce the appearance of any dark sport marks, all while ensuring skin remains calm. ⁣⁣

Skin Ceuticals SPF50*: As the weather has been so beautiful these past couple of months, spf has been more important than ever in my daily routine and the Ultra Defence formula from Skin Ceuticals has been one of my favourites for almost a year now. It’s got a very lightweight texture that doesn’t sit on the skin or feel as though you are wearing suncream, it smooths in to an invisible finish and leaves a lovely comfortable, glowy finish.

Omorovicza Scalp Reviver*: Whilst spending more time at home and not leaving the house, I’ve deemed this as the perfect time to train my hair to be washed every other day, but as someone who doesn’t like the feeling of dry shampoo, I’ve been on the hunt for a product that will keep my hair feeling fresh in-between washes. Introduce Omorovicza’s most innovative hair product - the Scalp Reviver. Formulated with a blend of amino acids and salicylic acid, this leave in treatment absorbs excess oil from the root and eliminates dead skin cells for a refreshed feeling scalp. ⁣⁣
