Work From Home Makeup

I’ll be honest, going from having the luxury of waking up and applying my favourite makeup products, to being at home with one tiny makeup bag of products, has somewhat taken away the ‘fun’ of makeup for me, simply because I love having the luxury of mixing it up each day depending on what look I feel like creating.

Makeup is a big part of me and something I love doing so despite being at home and not being able to leave the house, I do still like to apply makeup in the mornings (some days). I keep the base very minimal, the cheeks full of colour and everything else follows from there. Here is my current ‘at home makeup routine’ that works wonders at making me feel like I can conquer the world, from my kitchen. It’s fresh, dewy & very easy.

Wake Up & Touch Up Skin

Once I’ve applied all my serums and locked it in with a hydrating moisturiser, I like to give my skin a glow boost with a light reflecting primer or liquid highlighter. Having only brought home the bare minimum of making products, I’ve only got my NARS Hot Sand Liquid Illuminator which doubles up perfectly as a base and highlight. Hot Sand is a lovely peach champagne hue that illuminates the skin, leaving a pearly sheen all over.

I like to keep my makeup as minimal as possible, particularly on days at home so instead of using a tinted moisturiser, I just take my trusted Glossier Stretch Concealer* and use my fingers to press this under my eyes and on any areas that need touching up - redness or small blemishes. With such a dewy, bouncy texture, skin never looks heavy or covered up with this product, which is why I love it so much. It seamlessly melts into skin and provides a very fresh, dewy finish.

Bushy Brows

The power of a brow product is quite incredible and Glossier Boy Brow* has got to be the queen of brow gels (How many times can one say brow?!). On days when I’m applying makeup, I use this every time without fail. Its creamy wax formula stands out in the crowd and makes brows appear fluffy, defined and soft.

Lift & Tint Cheeks

I really don’t think you can beat the power of a good blush and cream will always be my go to formula. I find multi-tasking sticks perfect for the current climate as they have so many different purposes and I am sure I’m not the only one who under packed when coming home, misjudging just how long we would be away from our permanent base with full beauty collections to hand. I’ve mentioned this product a lot recently and that is because I can’t stop using it. Nudestix Nudies Bloom in Sweet Peach Peony*; ideal for enhancing skin and creating a ‘no makeup, makeup’ look. I apply this straight onto my cheeks and blend across the apples of my cheeks towards my hair line for a strong look that lifts my face.

Lash Lift

There’s nothing better than a swipe of mascara to finish off a bare faced makeup look and Glossier Lash Slick* is the perfect everyday mascara. It sculpts, separates, curls, lifts and defines all in one coat, its water resistant, made up of small fibres that cling to the lashes and its from Glossier, need I say any more?

Lip Hydration

For me, there is no need for a lipstick when at home so I prefer to add a touch of colour with my Nudestix blush stick and then apply a thick balm on top such as Weleda Skin Food.
