A New Primer Love

If I was writing a blog a year ago then you would never hear me talking about primers or see one in my makeup routine, it was a step I never did and just didn't see the point in doing. An extra cream after moisturiser and before foundation? It all seemed a little unessecary. However, those times were soon changed when I was introduced to the NARS Multi Protect Primer, the difference it made to how my makeup applied and lasted was incredible - a smooth, seamless buffing process that lasted all day. It was the dream product under any foundation. Since my love for primers developed, I thought I would widen my collection and branch out from NARS and try something new which lead me to pick up my latest beauty buy. Today I'm talking about a new primer love which boosts my hydration, gives me a subtle glow and holds my makeup in place for hours on end.

It's still very obvious that I love a dewy finish to my makeup so something like the Lancôme La Base Pro Hydra Glow is an essential in ones routine. Out of all the primers I've tested and collected, if I'm after something extra luminous then this will be my pick. Coming in at £28.50, Lancôme have created a light weight pink cream that effortlessly applies to the skin, preparing, hydrating and illuminating my skin for the day ahead. This talks all the primer boxes and works wonders on all skin types. As this injects dewiness into my skin, the light cream gives me 24 hours of hydration that will help prevent my makeup sticking to any dry patches or sliding off throughout the day. What I love about this primer is that although it promotes a radiant complexion, it isn't glittery or packed full of shimmery chunks, everything is all very natural looking as it simply boosts natural highlights that little extra.

To get the full effect of the primer, I apply one layer after a glow boosting moisturiser to get my skin ready for my base which with this product, I use Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser for it's luminsing properties that really show off the primer. With a creamy highlight on top and a peach blush, you will be radiant from underneath and glowing from above. A true summer staple that's been added to my stash. I've building quite the primer collection now. Any recommendations?

What is your go to primer?
