A Bedside Beauty Routine

Once the bathroom beauty is done and my skincare, hair oil and body lotion is on, the next step in my evening routine is bedside beauty. The extra products I keep by my bed for some last minute, pre-sleep hydration, relaxation and nourishment for my skin, hands and lips.

First things first, I'll slather my lips in a hydrating balm or multi-purpose cream like the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream which is a bit of a skin hero. Doubling up as a lip balm, nail cream and healer of any dry patches, it's a winter essential. Lip balm wise, the Burts Bees Ultra Conditioning Lip Stick* has been my go-to, it's easy to apply, rich and really helps keep my lips protected overnight, but if I want something a little more thick and luxurious, the Lanolips Dry Skin Salve* is my hero for it's thick, balmy texture that sits on the lips, working it's magic as I sleep. In the lotion department, I have a full-size pump bottle of the Lanolips Allover Everywhere Cream* which is my favourite bedtime pamper product that nourishes and helps keep my skin soft as the cold weather dries everything up. Next up, I always spritz my face with Caudalie Beauty Elixir, my go-to beauty product (that is also a handbag and desk essential). The fresh scent adds an extra layer of moisture and glow, locking in my serum and oil for suped-up hydrated skin. I love to give my nails a mini treatment in bed as I find the creams and oils I apply can work overnight and at the moment, to keep my cuticles intact, I'm using the Mavala Cuticle Oil. A little goes along way with this, so I run the applicator over my nails and let it sink in.

Next up and the last step in my bedside beauty routine is creating a relaxing, tranquil atmosphere to helps me switch off and fall into a deep sleep. The This Works Sleep Range is one of my absolute favourites, the Pillow Spray and Sleep Balm are always on my bedside table and come with me where-ever I go. First things first, I spritz a light mist of the Deep Sleep Pillow Spray over my duvet and underneath my pillows (I find this causes blemishes if I spray it directly where I lie my face) and the lavender scent is so calming and relaxing. The Sleep Balm is an added boost of sleepiness and I rub this onto my wrists, temples and under my nose.
